How well known is your sales organization?
Do you have an influx of new customers all the time or do people just stumble
onto you once in a great while? Well, wherever you are on the spectrum,
this article will share with you some simple ideas of expanding your list of
customers. We are not going to talk about technical marketing strategies;
just some simple, common sense sales and marketing you can put into practice
today with great success.
Sales expert Jeffrey Gitomer says to always create
value first. It is a good idea. Creating value first lessons the
resistance from the prospective customer. So, how do we do this?
Quite simply. Give something of value away. Really! It is that
simple. Give value to a lot of people and a lot of people will be knocking
on your door.
One way to do this is to give away a free sample,
a free newsletter, a free consultation, etc… I know a doctor
who does this very effectively by giving away a free body scan and consultation.
He prints this free scan “coupon” on the back of his business card. Every
time he gives out his business card he is adding value. Does it
work? What do you think? Absolutely!
Here is an idea to supercharge this concept.
What if you offered to Human Resources Executives at companies in your area this
free coupon offer for themselves and their entire company. Encourage them
to pass out the coupons to every employee. You might have more business
then you know what to do with in a very short time.
As a Motivational Business Speaker and Corporate
Sales Trainer, I
sometimes will give out free 45 minute preview seminars. It lets a
prospect test drive a seminar before they invest in a full seminar. I give
them value by giving them ideas that they can use immediately to be more
effective. Does it work? Oh yea! For example, I booked
multiple days of seminars with one client using this technique.
As I mentioned a moment ago, it is also a good
idea to have a newsletter or ezine. Pack it full of helpful ideas that are
of interest to your customers, their families, friends, and colleagues.
Give it away for free.
