The strength of human beings lies in their integrity. There is the story of a man who was traveling through apple country. The man stopped beside the road to watch a farmer who was spraying his trees to keep the codling moths from damaging his apples. After some time, the man enquired of the farmer, “Why do you dislike the codling moth? What do you have against them?”
The farmer looked at the stranger and said, “It’s not so much that I am against the codling moth. It’s just that I am for my apples.”
When people take a stand for something then by default everybody knows what they are against. A person of integrity stands up for certain values. Those are the values of truthfulness, trustworthiness, and honor. These values become the backbone of their life. The pillar that strengthens the roof under the bombardment of the enemy. And believe me, the enemy will attack when you stand up for integrity. But stand your ground and you will not be defeated. Sometimes the enemy will win the outward worldly battle but you must be certain you never lose the inward battle. With Jesus Christ on your side you can be sure. “So what should we say about this? If God is with us, no one can defeat us” (Romans 8:31 NCV).
